Tithi has kindly participated in a Q&A session to help our Paint Plot community get to know him and a little about his life and future goals.

  1. Where and when were you born?
I was born in Ubonratchathani, north-east Thailand, in 1981.

  2. Where did you go to school?
I studied in a small school until I was 15 years old. After that I got a vocational degree in design. I moved to Bangkok and studied at Poh-Chang Academy of Arts for two years, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in architecture at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang.

  3. Where do you live now?
Nowadays I'm a freelance artist and I live in Bangkok.

  4. You are described as a Digital Artist, what does that mean?
I'm still a traditional artist and I create artwork for customers but I use computer tools such as Photoshop. In this day and age artwork needs to be fast and fluent, so computer programs are convenient and allow for adjustments if required, so therefore categorised as digital painting.
  1. What inspired you to become an Artist?
When I was young, I liked watching cartoons and reading comics and manga. I liked drawing all the characters, especially from DragonBall Z (a Japanese anime TV series). I found that drawing cartoons made me happy. From 15 years of age I knew I wanted to become an artist.
  1. Is there another Artist or Artists that inspire you?
My favorite artist is Japanese manga artist: Tsutomu Nihei (such as Blame!, Biomega, Abara). I found that his style made me connect with the characters and different scenes, especially futuristic worlds, cyberpunk style, high-tech cities. Many of my ideas, especially my sci-fi paintings have derived from his manga.

  2. Digital Artistry is relatively new, how long have you been involved in this genre?
I’ve been involved in this genre for about 10 years. Between (2005-2013) I did a lot of hand-drawn interior renderings for an interior company that I was working for full-time. During this time, I gained a lot of skills in drawing landscapes and cityscapes. (which was in about 2008). I learned to use computer programs to retouch my work and this is how I became interested in digital painting and improving my skills.

  3. Where do you draw your imagination for your images from?
For a lot of my work I use pictures of places that I’ve visited during my travels as inspiration. I also follow the work of many artists that I’m interested in on Artstation, Deviantart, Pinterest.

  4. What is your favourite piece of art you have created?
This is my favourite piece. A boy rowing to another world and whilst travelling, seeing stars like this in the sky. This image has both a fantasy and science fiction style. I got the idea from the movie “Interstellar”. I also like photos with a long exposure of stars because it can’t happen in real life.

  5. Do you have any advice for any anyone wanting to become a Digital Artist?
Digital art is huge, there are many customers around the world who want to purchase this genre. I still feel like I’m a beginner and I have so much more to learn. If you are interested in art, you must always keep practicing. If you can do something that makes you happy, then that is a wonderful thing.
